*Reporting Live From Ipperwash Beach*
I’d thought that today was going to be more about poking around beach town than being at a beach, but the latter was voted for, so here we are.
Taking a picturesque drive here revealed a huge section of beach that you can drive onto, so we opted for that approach, and here we are with J and the kid in the water while I — not wishing for a lengthy drive home while damp, thanks — opted to stay on land.
The downside is not being able to unwind a bit longer in the cool lake.
For my tastes, though, the upsides beat that: I’m not damp or sandy, I’m sitting in the shade in the car with the windows down to catch what breezes I can, plus while it’s not exactly what I had in mind — in a car, with an ebook on the phone — it does allow me some time to read on the beach.
I think, as beach time so often ends up being, the next step is grabbing ice cream, then a meal.
It’s been a pretty busy summer for us, and that’s going to continue over the next couple of weeks, pretty close to when school starts all over again for the resident teacher and student. If life allows us even a brief time to sneak away and get some time to actually unwind like this, I’ll take it.
Now if you’ll excuse me, I need to finally get to my book and the very important consideration of what ice cream I’ll get shortly.
