I came across fewer new songs this year than I often do, but I’ll squarely attribute that to trying to get through 50 books this year, and that often taking the form of audio books occupying my listening time.
As always, these aren’t necessarily songs released this year, but just songs I heard for the first time this year.
In chronological order of how I brought them into the fold, and with apologies about still linking to YouTube (I’m still trying to de-Google my life, but YouTube remains the best place for such things), here are my top 10 songs of 2025:

We’re trying to see more bands play these days, so it would be great if some of these folks — the ones still playing together, at least; I don’t know if that’s the case for all of them — would get up this way for some live shows. Face To Face, I’m particularly looking at you.
