What I read this month

Well, well, well… I wonder what life is like for people who didn’t read fifty books this year.

Hmm?
What’s that?
Oh yeah, I’ve done that. That, and more.
Before December even started, no less.

Mind you, slam-dunking a stack in November went a long way toward wrapping up my self-imposed challenge — see the bottom of this post — early.

Here’s how this month went:

Read
Automatic Noodle – Annalee Newitz
Firewalkers – Adrian Tchaikovksky
The Original – Brandon Sanderson & Mary Robinette Kowal
Princess Florinda and the Forty-Flight Tower – Tamsyn Muir
An Elderly Lady Is Up To No Good – Helene Tursten
The Obstacle Is The Way – Ryan Holiday
Astrophysics For People In A Hurry – Neil deGrasse Tyson
Fuzzy Nation – John Scalzi
Several People Are Typing – Calvin Kasulke
The Electric State РSimon St̴lenhag
The Last Lecture – Randy Pausch
The Miracle of Mindfulness – Thich Nhat Hanh

Reading
Write Down The Bones: Freeing The Writer Within – Natalie Goldberg

… right? Turns out that, when trying to read 50 books in a year, reading 12 in one month helps things along nicely.

I’m not going to have the pedal to the metal for December, what with already having completed — nay, crushed — this challenge. But there are definitely a few more books I’d like to check out sooner rather than later. And after all, Jolabokaflod is coming shortly.

Next month I’ll do the usual monthly post of what I’ve read along with wrapping up my top ten books of the year. Going to take some extra sifting among the options, with an unusual amount of riches to choose from this time around.
